M is for Minli

I've read WHERE THE MOUNTAIN MEETS THE MOON so many times, I should just marry it already. It's filled with stories within stories that come together so beautifully in the end. Minli is a poor girl who sets off on a quest to obtain a fortune to save her family. Probably the best read-aloud book our family has ever read. Grace Lin is a genius. Also, there are dragons. *win*

"If there is a secret to happiness, I should have it."

Do you like Minli? Tell me your favorite "M" characters.

Sounds like a sweet story. Marcus Eaton from Divergent is not my favourite character. He's an a-whole but you know what, he is smart and knows when to talk and when to just observe. And his faction's peace loving ways doesn't let him forget reality.

That sounds whimsical and lovely. Great choice for M, too! :)

Sounds like a fun book. And yay for dragons!

M characters? Oooh, I'm going with Mr. Darcy from Pride and Prejudice. I love me some Mr. Darcy. A character that, at the beginning of the story, you want to hate and then by the end you can't help but love. Mmm hmmm.

Yes! Minli is a beautiful character. I related to her journey and enjoyed the artwork and legends/folklore that went with it.

Love the new look, Ilima!
That book was wonderful. I told my kids I want a goldfish that grants wishes!

Stopping by from a-z. I think when this month is over I might have to hide out in May to read all of the books I am learning about. I read The Late Lamented Molly Marx awhile back so that M character comes to mind (I'd probably have forgotten her name if it wasn't in the title) :)
