A is for Anne Shirley

What happens when an aging pair of siblings decide to adopt a boy to help out on the farm? Why, they get the ever bright, talkative, eager to please, and extremely imaginative Anne Shirley...the girl who stars in her own book series beginning with Anne of Green Gables.

"I wouldn't mind my misfortunes so much if they were romantic, but they are always simply ridiculous."

Do you like Anne Shirley? Tell me some of your favorite A characters.

*And a HUGE thanks to Arlee Bird for starting the A to Z challenge!!!

A character I would have never been introduced too had I not gotten married. My life -loves- Anne of Green Gables so, needless to say, I've seen quite a bit of it.

I found it a very cute and quaint show and it can, actually, hold my attention for bits of time :)

When I saw the TV show I felt complete affinity for Anne, so much so that I wanted to have her life! lol I read the books later and loved them just the same. What a great character to kick off the challenge with. :)

My girls just recently read Anne of Green Gables. Great choice for the letter A.

Hey Girl- I'm baaack. Hope you enjoyed the holiday with your fam.

I loved Anne of Green Gables- I tore through all of those books with great zeal when I was a little girl. Nice choice for this A-Z challenge!

Love Anne Shirley - and now I want to go back and read all of those books again. And watch the TV show. Great quote, too. :)

Happy A-Z!

Oh, Anne with an e, I love you almost as much as you love Gilbert Blythe. I saw a musical production of Anne last year. I was doubtful, but it didn't disappoint.

Anna (and the French Kiss) comes to mind.

Happy A Day:D

I love this movie! I still have yet to read the book, but I grew up watching this with my sisters :)

I thought her last name was Green Gables! (Kidding. Probably!) And don't call me Shirley!

I love Anne Shirley...but the first A character that came to mind was Anthony Adverse and the big struggle it was to read back in high school.

I loved that book, though I unfortunately never finished the whole series. I still remember my late grandpap saying, as we were watching some PBS adaptation of the first book, "There goes old Matthew!"

I love Anne, with an 'e'. I didn't discover the books until my kids cottoned me onto them but I love the series and read it every couple of years.

Anne is amazing! I, too, wish my misfortunes were less ridiculous and more romantic.
