G is for Gemma Toombs

STOLEN is a letter written from Gemma to her kidnapper. With a unique second person narrative and raw, psychotic, yet sympathetic characters, Gemma's story is un-put-downable. Combined with the gorgeous Australian outback setting, it is one of my favorite YA novels.

"And it's hard to hate someone once you understand them."

Do you like Gemma? What are some of your favorite G characters?

I got to go With Gandalf from LOTR trilogy and Ginny Weasley from the Harry Potter books. I've always said I'd get a copy of Stolen but never did. Thanks for reminding me about such a powerful book.

Who's the author? This sounds intriguing. Not many second person books around.

Loved this story. Was the first and only 2nd person novel I've read. I'd definitely recommend it.

It was definitely a haunting read, and the second person pov grew on me to the point where I didn't even notice it after awhile.

I've never heard of this book, and I'm Australian! sounds like a gripping read though.

I haven't heard of this one :) But I love that style of writing.

Hmm... G characters. I'm a fan of Garrick from Losing It. He's a hottie hot piece of heaven.

I put it on hold at my library. Your fav. YA read and I have only remember hearing about it once (from Michelle D. Argyle). My head must be buried in the Australian outback.

One of my favorites is of course Goldmund, from Hermann Hesse's classic Narcissus and Goldmund.
