Steampunk Adventures and NaNoWriMo Wishes

A couple of great books to spotlight today. First up is the cover reveal for Jay Noel's novel, DRAGONFLY WARRIOR. It's a steampunk adventure that mixes Asian and European mythology, the Wild West, martial arts, traditional fantasy, and high powered steam action. How cool is that? I LOVE how the cover portrays all of this:

Isn't it awesome? Dragonfly Warrior is the first book of The Mechanica Wars and will debut on January 6, 2014. Congrats Jay!

Also, today is the release of THE SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS ANTHOLOGY from Jennie Bennett, Jessica Salyer, Kelley Lynn, David P. King, and Cassie Mae. You can purchase it here. All proceeds from sales go to benefit NaNoWriMo, and they are hosting a Blog Hop to celebrate.

To participate, I just have to share my NaNo wish. This year I want to finish drafting Remake 2. It's told from the POV of my all-time favorite character, and it's been quite an emotional journey for me...my most challenging book to draft so far. But it will be worth it!
Shiny. Let's be bad guys.

How about you? What's your NaNo wish?

If you want to friend me on NaNo, I'll friend you back and we can support each other all month! My username is ilimaktodd.

How was your Halloween? Any guesses who I dressed up as?

And who else is seeing Ender's Game tonight? I can't wait!

Take my hand and come walk with me...

Jay's cover rocks. Will reveal it next week on my blog as well. POV is a big deal with writing and I wish you all the best in completing your draft of Remake 2.

You're getting your NaNo wish. I know. I talked to the NaNo Wish Fairy.
Love you Halloween costume! And Stan and I are seeing Ender's Game tomorrow night! Enjoy!

Seeing Ender's Game this afternoon. Review to follow on Monday.

Goodness, you asked too many questions. I can't remember them all now.

Let's see. Halloween was good. Went out with about 15 kids and 7 moms. You'd think with that many we'd be able to keep em in line, but it was hard. The boys were older so we had to keep slowing them down.

I have to say I'm impressed with my 6 year old daughter. She and one other girl kept up with the boys fairly well for about 2/3 the way. The other girls were more chatty and slowed the group down. :)

Was a great weather night though--that's our biggest worry here.

Thanks for sharing my cover!

And I just know you WILL achieve your NaNo goal. Often times, the most emotionally draining work is the most satisfying.

Good luck with NaNo! Congrats to Jay! I am seeing Ender's Game this weekend as well!

Emotionally draining is good. It means you did your best work.

I would have found it hard to believe that one cover could convincingly mix all those elements, but that has it all in one.

I bet I know what you're doing this morning :) Hard at work on Nano. I feel like I should have done it because I've been writing a ton of words lately.
