Having to wait all week to tell you the truth has been torture, but here it is...
The trip was an epic one. We flew into Paris and all we knew is we had to be in Rome two weeks later. We completely winged the whole vacation and went from Paris to Germany (where we rented a Porsche for my husband to drive on the Autobahn) to Switzerland and over the Alps to Italy.
I had convinced my husband before the trip that we should go to Volterra for a day and chickened out once there, thinking it would be much more responsible and logical to see the leaning tower of Pisa instead. But my amazing husband said, "No Way. How many people can say they've lived their favorite book?" and he insisted we go to Volterra. Is he amazing or what? We did rent a Harley at a shop in Florence. Here's the proof:
Here's the bike parked at the villa we stayed at just outside of Florence.
Collectable t-shirt. Yes, we spent an absurd amount of time at the Harley shop.
(And the freakin' Porsche museum in Germany :)
(And the freakin' Porsche museum in Germany :)
My "Edward" in the shadows of the clock tower in Volterra, Italy.
The ancient streets of Volterra.
I *did* see Wayne Brady at a Ross, and my parents saw Dominic Monaghan at Sears (and talked to him) and Matthew Fox at the airport (yes, with chains and all) but I wasn't with them. And one of my husband's employees did intern for a movie production company, but I never went to the set with her. She was the one who got hit on by Owen Wilson. He actually took her out and they ended up at his rental home (yes, it was Elvis' house) and he tried to kiss her. But she wouldn't let him. Good girl. Although if I *had* gone with her to the set and Owen got a look at me, well, then...
Thanks for playing. Now I'm heading to everyone else's blogs to see if I was right!

LUCKY!!
really glad this is true! great story!
Boy, got that one wrong too. I'm 1/4 right--I guess I can't read people's lies.
Oh, you totally fooled me but I'm really glad you got to take such an amazing trip! I think I'm 2/5 now.
Oh man. No Owen Wilson... Bummer :)
But those pics are fabulous! :)
Haha, you got me. Lucky you on the trip. I need a vacay :)
Dang. You really had me going.
Those pictures are amazing. What a fun trip!
BTW, I think Owen Wilson would hit on you if he ever met you. Just sayin'...
Dang! I was completely wrong. Great stories! I'm glad you had a wonderful time in Italy. That trip sounds/looks amazing!!
That sounds like a trip of a lifetime! Your stories were both so over the top that I couldn't decide. Lucky you!
Beautiful pictures. Great stories too! You may have to guest post for me on my Friday Fact or Fiction days, cause you are good!! Italy is on my bucket list. The girls and I really want to go.
And you said you weren't good at the whole lying thing. You fooled a ton of people. Not me, of course, but still. Fun to see pictures. If I'd have been single and Owen Wilson tried to kiss me, I think I would have let him.And for the record. You still have it going on:)
You SO fooled me. But I'm very glad the vacation story is true. How awesome!!! Totally jealous. That is way cooler than Owen Wilson (is is also awesome) hitting on you for sure.
Wow, that is amazing. I love that I was wrong on this one, because what a cool trip. I had no idea there was a Harley shop in Italy. I'll have to tell my next door neighbor.
I totally believed Owen Wilson hit on you, though. You seem like that kind of a gal :)
Sneaky, sneaky. I knew that second story had some truth to it--just too many cool incidents to be completely fake. And I totally want that dream vacation!
This was so fun to read! I thought I knew the answer, and it turns out my inkling was right, but I honestly wasn't sure. What a great way to spend your 20-year anniversary!
