IWSG: I Need A Hug

Join the IWSG

Advanced copies of my book go out this month.

Which means people will read my book.

Which means people are going leave reviews.

Hold me.

I'd give everything just to be numb.

People are reviewing my book right now - I totally relate. I'll never get used to it. We can hug each other :-)

Gosh I relate to that anxiety, but you will be just fine! Congrats and BIG HUG!!! :D

I really miss you! If you want to get together sometime so I can give you a real hug, I'm all over that! I wish you luck, my friend. This is probably the hardest trail of an author's life (the debut). You'll get through this, though. I know you're strong!

HUGE hubs!

My advice is simple about the reviews. Don't read them. If you would like to know about nice things that are being said, have someone who cares about you filter for you and only send the nice ones.

And move on.

CONGRATS! Is it going to be an audiobook?

Then this is a perfect day for you, isn't it? A lot of us know exactly how you feel. Sending calm and comforting vibes your way.

Hang in there! It's all going to work out wonderfully. Have faith in yourself and in your work. :)

Consider yourself hugged! Know they won't all be perfect but that's all right. You don't need everyone to love your book. Just enough to spread the word.

yay, it's always exciting and always unnerving, right? I'm sure your book will find much love! :-)

That's so exciting!! I'm sure people will love it! (And if anyone doesn't, that's their problem. Not everyone can be brilliant.) ;) I'm so excited to read it, now I'm all jealous of the people getting ARCs! :)

Look at this group hug (let me in!).

Be excited. This is a great moment for you. You already know I'm getting a copy of it. That beats any bad review you may get. :)

Keep your chin up! You're going to get a lot of great reviews. And you have to remember, even if you get one that is less than great, that it is only one person's opinion. The only opinion that really matters is your own. And of course your editor's/publisher's opinion.

Write for the readers who like your stories, not for the ones who don't. :)

Huuuuuug!!!!!! It's going to be AMAZING, Ilima. I have NO DOUBT. :) :) :)

Just send me the bad reviews and I'll put on my "say it's five stars" knuckles!! But...yes I said butt, it'll be a terrific experience for you and we will be there hugging, holding, and butt grabbing when necessary. I'll even fly sushi your way. We love you and you'll be fab!!!

Hugs to you.

And if you don't need them now, just set them to the side for when you do. :)

That does sound terrifying--but exciting too. You'll have a real book out in the world! I can't wait to read it. :)

Squeezing in my hugs too! Hold in there. Don't worry about the bad comments - how often does everyone like something? I'm sure it's awesome :)

HUG!!

It's gonna be wonderful, sweetie! :) I have faith in you. Take a deep breath and let us hug you!

I can definitely relate to this! I learned the hard way that it's best just not to read reviews at all, and concentrate on the next book instead!

Yay!! I'm so excited for you! Congratulations!!

I understand your apprehension and anxiety... that having been said, what if they love it? Cause I have a feeling- they will!!! Keep positive thoughts in your mind my friend.

From what I hear, you have absolutely nothing to worry about! I'm sure its fantastic, but I completely understand the anxiety! So exciting at the same time, though!!!!

That is scary, but it means your book is closer to coming out! And if it is anything like the things you blog about I know it is going to be great, I love reading your posts
