About Today

A is for ABOUT TODAY by The National. I seriously wrote one of my books with this song on repeat the whole time. It's from the movie WARRIOR which, by the way, if you haven't seen, you must drop what you're doing and watch it now! Seriously.

How close am I to losing you?

So I guess having on idea which movie you're talking about is a bad thing. Nice song Choice Ilima. I like the beat, it makes me pensive and deep in thought.

Writers have a magic knack for finding super cool songs - I like this a lot!

Haven't seen the movie or heard the song. I should check it out.

Simple tune and perfect for playing in the background.

Haven't watched WARRIOR, bad me, but I did finally watch WARM BODIES last night. Even Stan loved it and he's not usually into the whole zombie thing.

Wow, what a great song! I had never heard it before, nor have I seen the movie. It's funny though, I'm also a writer, and I also tend to listen to a song on repeat when I write. If the song matches the mood of the scene it helps your mindset.

~Stopping by from A to Z!

I am not sure that I could stand listening to the same song on repeat for the duration of my writing process. I am really slow. I might smash my IPod.

However, I appreciate those folks who use music to aid their process.

Never heard this song before. It's sad, but I like it.

I am so going to listen in to these while I browse through the challenge. Hadn't heard this one before. I make be super cultured by the time we get to Z. :)

I've done that before--the whole "one track book" thing. There are just some songs that really encompass the entire mood of a story. In fact, I have unique playlists for every book I've written, usually two or three power songs and a few peripheral ones that help.

Cool tune, I could listen to it over and over. I have never seen Warrior. If you loved it so much I most likely will as well. I'm going to have to look it up!

I was reading through your blog and you are a MACHINE, writing-wise. I could use some of your energy and devotion! (Maybe it's the music you listen to... ) Happy A to Z!

You're right. This is great writing music! :)

I never write to music. I'm kind of a silence girl, but maybe I'm missing a great source of inspiration :)

Thanks for another great suggestion! I have a feeling my music collection is going to grow this year. :)
