Falling Slowly

F is for FALLING SLOWLY by Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova. One of the greatest songs of all time, in my opinion. It's been redone several times by various artists, but I still like the original the best. Do you tend to like original songs or covers/remakes of them?

Words fall through me.

I usually prefer an original song to a cover, but in the last few years there have been some excellent covers of great songs. :D

The original but I love a new take that is done well.

Depends on how the remake is done, but it's hard to outdo the original. Nice pick! :)

I don't tend to lean toward one or the other. I'm always impressed when someone can take an original song and recraft it into something new and exciting. One of the coolest things about a cover is when it unites two generations with the same song, even though they are by two different artists. If the message of the song is powerful enough, it doesn't matter who delivers it. :)

Falling slowly sounds like the title of a YA book (that was my first impression). Nice choice for F alphabet.

What a lovely video! I usually like the originals more. But every now and then, someone hits a remake just right.

I usually like originals, but it depends on who redoes the song.

It depends. Many original songs can't be touched, but there are many great artists now-a-days who remake popular songs and I love their take on the original.

P.S. I also love this song but . . . I've never heard the original. Eep! Sorry. :)

Thanks to your video, I've finally heard the song. It was folksy okay.

I'm mixed. It's usually the version I hear first. Not always, but usually. :)

Yes!!! I saw Glenn and Marketa live right after this movie won, and it was an amazing show. They're both so talented!
