What I Did Last Summer...Story #1

If you are here for the GUTGAA Meet and Greet, you can find my post here, or just scroll down.

This is my Monday post for the What I Did Last Summer: Fact or Fiction? Blog Hop hosted by Emily R. King and Melodie Wright. I'm sharing a summer story today (under 500 words) and another on Wednesday. It is up to you, the readers, to determine which story is true and which one is false. So here goes...

You may have heard about this book called Twilight. No? Well it's a YA paranormal romance series written by Stephenie Meyer and was kind of popular a few years back. :) Yeah, well. I was kind of a die-hard fan: in line at midnight at Borders *sigh* for each successive book, stalking all fan message boards for any forthcoming movie info, having to buy a second copy of every book because my original set was in tatters from lending it out to every living soul in the world (who am I kidding, I read those babies to death). And I want to hear a woot-woot from anyone who knows who Ilyana Kadushin is. ;)

Well, my obsession  had me convincing my husband that for our 10th wedding anniversary, we should make the trip to Volterra, Italy. You know, to retrace Bella's Porsche drive through Tuscany, push our way through the crowds to the clock tower, meet the Volturi, see if Edward was-a-lurking. And because my husband is the bestest in the whole world, he agreed.

We drove miles and miles through gorgeous Italy and up to the ancient city on the back of a Harley that we rented for the day. I took pictures of the clock tower and tried to catch a glimpse of the underground vampire royalty without any luck. But I did end up with a lovely Volterra magnet for my fridge and a bruised butt from riding the Harley all day. And of course I ate some delicious, authentic, Italian, creamy pasta that was almost as yummy as Edward (book version, of course).

And that's my story. Be sure to stop by on Wednesday for Story #2 then let me know (in the comments of each post) which is fact and which is fiction. See you opening night for Breaking Dawn 2!!!

That would be really awesome if you did because now, I so want to go to Italy!

Hmm, I'm thinking false, but if it's true, that's one heck of a vacation!

Ha!! I love this! It cracks me up (and secretly makes me a bit jealous being the Twilight junkie that I am). I'm going with not true, but I'm saving my official guess for Wed. ;)

I had to find your blog in a round-about way because I wasn’t able to get to your blog through the bloghop link. =) I’m glad I found it though.

This would be an awesome experience if it were true. I'll have to come back to read your second story to decide

Wow, what an amazing vacation. I love the idea of tracing a book's steps through such a cool city. Bummer you didn't see the Volturi. I'd believe this was true if you had said you rode a Ducati or other European brand of motorcycle, but I'm going to go with false. Sigh, but if it's true I'm jealous.

I'm with everyone else - a Harley in Tuscany? Jealous!!! Hope it's true, though...but am hedging my bets. ;)

I think this might be false. Not your love of Twilight but going to Italy. But we shall see with the rest of the stories.

Ooh, sounds delightful! I hope it's all true. Except the bruised butt part, of course. :)

I'm going to guess FALSE, however, because this seems a little too amazing to be true. I hope I'm wrong!

Oo, I hope this is true. Sounds fun! :)

What a wonderful story...but I think it might be just that, a story. I'm going to vote fiction.

If it's true, you are the bestest Twilight Fan. But, I am leaning toward no. Harley in Italy. We will see, I guess. haha.

Hmmm . . .I probably should wait until Wednesday, but renting a Harley . . .I think it's fiction.

Your hubby is super sweet to you, but is he that sweet? I just don't know. I'm holding my vote until Wednesday.

You hubs does super awesome stuff, so he might go for it. I'm waiting for Wed. to cast my official vote though. Fun to read. I enjoyed Twilight...but nowhere near your level:)

I'm on the fence with this one...I'll wait until Wednesday to decide for sure. Sounds awesome either way though. :)

Your have only one picture and it is in broad daylight! What kind of twilight tour is in daylight! False.

This sounds like a lot of fun (minus the twilight obsessiveness...) If you really did get to go to Italy, I'mma be sooo jealous.

Fabulous story. I sort of cheated because I read the second one first so I am going to vote fiction for this one.

Suzi said...

My guess: fiction

Italy is FABULOUS... and for that reason I'm going with FACT!
