Z is for ZZZ's

I'm tired. Exhausted. Completely wiped out. Has this A to Z thing wiped anyone else out?

A little insight into my current state of being:

Something smells at my desk, and I don't think it's the giant pile of empty pistachio shells in front of me. Or the empty bottles of Diet Coke and Perrier. To my right is a Five Guys empty paper cup, a cardboard Amazon box on the ground, and three uncapped and dried up glue sticks. To my left is my daughter's pink princess blanket, stacks of multiplication and division fact cards, and a slew of empty plastic Walmart bags. Behind me is a stack of bills, some kind of Nerf gun, and four bottles of newly purchased sunscreen.

But you know what else surrounds me? A 5" inch hula girl statue that wiggles when I walk by, a stack of novel bookmarks I've collected from author signings, and a plastic button that reads "Save Peeta." Everywhere I turn there are stacks and stacks of books, and half of them are young adult novels just for me. Also: pictures of my family, a NaNo winner certificate, and a small stack of books written by yours truly.

My life may be chaos...but it IS a life. One that I wouldn't trade for any other, filled with my dreams, goals, and what's most important--my family.

The next month-and-a-half is going to be crazy busy, but I plan on popping in on the blogosphere when I can--just not everyday. Sheesh. Let's all just take a nap or something, yes?

Are you tired? Is your house immaculate or does it hold evidence of life?

Also, I will be at LDStorymakers conference later this week. Who else will be there?

I wish I was going to Storymakers! Have fun! And that picture just cracks me up!

Hmmm. Something happened to my comment, I hope it doesn't show up twice.

My house will never be immaculate, even when the kids not out. It's not disgustingly dirty or anything, just not organized.

Thanks, Ilima, for the journey from A to Z. My favourite was H for the great openning. The conference has 4 good literary agents and good luck in meeting with the editor Molly O'Neill (I follow her blog). Best wishes to you and your family.

Weird...my comment got eaten too, like Suzi's. Here I go again (hopefully not twice).

Just wanted to say I think I know EXACTLY how you feel. I am tired beyond belief and trying to grasp any energy in the ether for the next month and a half. But so many great things have been happening.

So excited to see you again in three days!!!

Yvonne-Congrats to you, too! Thanks for sticking with me.

Cortney-That picture makes me laugh, too.

Suzi-I don't think my house is disgustingly dirty either...but sometimes I wonder. :)

Giora-Thanks for the kind wishes.

Katie-Uh-oh. I hope all is well with my blog and comments. Yay for Storymakers! I'll see you soon.

I think we should all power down in May. Call it the snoozing challenge or something. :)

And yay for Storymakers! I won't be there, but Provo is not far away. I may come and hide in the bushes till there's an opportune moment for me to sneak in.

I'll be the crazy woman being escorted from the building!

Have fun at Storymakers! Wish I could go, but alas...:sad panda face:

So bummed I can't go to Storymakers. And I am tired, but I had to take breaks because of work and all. I think blogging EVERY day is too much.

Here's to May! Sun, rest, and crazy writing.

I am SO down with taking a nap. I'll definitely take a little break from blogging now that the challenge is over.

I really enjoyed reading your daily posts. I will miss them.

My house looks like a bomb went off in it right now, and the irony of this is, I work for a cleaning company! Yep. No one who walked in my house right now would (1) ever believe me if I told them I clean for extra cash (2) no one would ever hire me to clean for them
(3) My boss would faint if he saw what a hot mess my house is because he is always telling me I'm the best cleaner who's ever worked for him. HAHAHA!

The problem is, I give every last ounce of strength I've got to my job, so when I come home I'm just too dang tired to clean my own house- I seriously need to sell a book or two so I can hire myself to clean. LOL

You did it! I'm so proud of you. Great posts all month long. Enjoy all those naps; I'll be expecting more greatness next month:)

Your life sounds awesome :)

Cassie-Snoozing challenge...I love it. Maybe I'll bring a headshot of you to the conference and sit you in a couple of classes.

Jaycee-Sad panda face is soooo cute.

Jenny-Always crazy writing,

Cristina-Way to go to the end!

Jaybird-Haha. We had a cleaning lady a few years ago and I commented that her house must be so clean. She basically had the same answer as you...the shoemaker's kids have no shoes. LOL.

Robin-Thanks, Robin!

Kelley-An awesome mess...thanks. :)

I won't be at the conference. I'll be signing books instead and meeting with writers at my hometown school, so I figure it's a fair trade-off. :)

I'm always tired, lol, but I figure if I'm tired from working, it's a GOOD tired! And yes, my house is clean, but not immaculate. At least it was clean yesterday...

Great ending post. My house definitely shows signs of life. I'm not sure why, but there's a miniature Ohio State University football on my desk next to my laptop.
